No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

We had a blood drive yesterday at work. We collected 166 pints of blood and 200 samples for the national bone marrow database. I gave a sample for bone marrow testing. The nurse stabbed me 4 times before she gave up and called the oldest nurse who finally got a good vein and drew blood. This is what my right arm looks like. Selflessness is really hard…

Bullshit. You came up with this Pollyanna story about giving blood.

It's really a self-inflicted hickey. The inner arm is quite the erogenous zone. Ha!

Seriously, you reminded me that I haven't given blood in like a century. I'm bad

Well I was thinking that there was only one word for that picture too, and it was "OUCH!"

But then angelatee changed my perception a little bit! Although I don't think it's a hickey, I think it's bruising and track marks from that nasty smack habit you're trying so desperately to conceal!

good god!

At least you know you're not a good candidate for intravenous drugs... I'd stay with pills if I were you...

And reading Angelatee's comment made me feel bad - I haven't given blood in YEARS, even though my company, and my university before that, has a blood drive every 2 months. But it's because I don't weigh enough! I keep going, and they keep telling me to eat a steak and come back! it's very demoralizing. Especially for a vegetarian.
