The Fun Continues

I hate to do this to y’all but I got more bad news. We heard on Thursday that hubby’s parents got a letter from the Israeli ministry on interior telling them they have 30 days to leave the country or else. No explanation no nothing. Since they’re not Jewish they don’t have citizenship or even residency so there’s not a lot that can be done. They’ve lived here for 18 years on and off and have nothing to go back to. I’ve been running around all morning trying to fight this and now we’re just waiting for the lawyer to call us back with some hopefully good news.

When I was younger, about 19, I got this book called The Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis. The book consists of a series of letters written by a senior demon to his nephew helping him mess with a human. The whole thing makes you wonder about shit and the way we respond to different events in our lives but the part that stuck with me is when Screwtape explain to his nephew that they must never let humans know that life is basically a series of highs and lows. He says if humans know this, demons will lose all their power over us because we will no longer be affected by irrational thoughts like “why me” and “god hates me”. If we understand life is all about ups and downs we will enjoy the happy times more and work through the bad times knowing they will eventually pass.

Aww, Sarah sorry to hear more trouble.

Hopefully the lows will get worked out sooner than later.

I can punch them in the face if that would help?

If not, then I am certainly going to look for that book. I think both my sister and I would enjoy it.

My word verification is dootkqe. Reminds me of dookey
