Yummy Saturday

Thank you all for the good vibes, hubby is going in today for a dry run with the restaurant’s chef – a woman! That rocks. There are very few women chefs in Israel and I’m glad to see that changing. I am so nervous for him but also very excited, I really want him to work a real restaurant and not a pub, it’ll be a step up for him and he needs it.

Saturday we had a bunch of people over for Alex’s birthday. I feel bad coz we’re really broke and I didn’t get him anything. But I did let him use my house for his B-day BBQ so not too bad. We had a great time and I didn’t have to do much, for a change! Hubby was grilling and Alex was doing the rest of the food, having chefs around is awesome! After the food we drank a lot and watched True Lies – I forgot how much fun that movie was! Also it was the first weekend in ages hubby was home so that was awesome too. He may have lost his job but I think that saved our marriage…! I ended up with a ton of leftovers – also good for our money problem and very yummy.

There was this one woman I’d never met, a friend of Alex’s girlfriend. She was under the impression she needed to impress us or something, kept trying to work into the conversation the posh restaurants she ate at and the concerts she went to. What was really funny is how nobody really paid attention to her when she talked about those things, everyone kinda looked at her funny – I love my friends! We’re so laid back and unless Alex and hubby area talking about food or weapons, there really isn’t much need to impress each other! Anyway – I did not get a good vibe from her at all. Nothing specific but you know how it is when you just don’t like someone?

I’m not sure how I found your blog, but it’s entertained me for awhile half a world away . . . or maybe a whole world.

Good luck on your hubby’s new restaurant. And curses on that other turd’s place.

Anyhow . . . good vibes, good karma.

I hate presumptious people. I love that your friends just looked to her. I find deep down they are just insecure, so they try to impress you with what they have or where they have been. Sad.

It must be awesome to have the hubby home! I know you'd been missing him. I hated when I dated the guy who worked in a bar. I spent so many weekends and nights alone. It's no fun.

I know *exactly* what you mean. I have someone in my life like that right now and I cannot for the life of me put my finger on it. in this case though... it's weird. my best friend really likes her and hangs with her. so that has made me question my instincts and yet - I'm 32. and by now my instincts are usually dead on. you know? I'll figure it out. ;)

glad you're getting to spend time with hubby. I stole that bbq recipe by the way LOL. wishing him much luck on getting a new gig!

Hmmmm, I think we all may have that "person" in our lives right now. *squints* Mine happens to be my brothers fiance. Even my mom is having off vibes. Anyhoooodily...

I hope it's going well for the hub. Is he officially hired at the new place?
